The list of draft prospects who the San Francisco 49ers have had virtual conversations with continues to grow. The latest report once again comes from the resourceful Justin Melo of The Draft Network, who states the team has spoken with West Virginia defensive lineman Darius Stills.
Stills has also met with the New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks, and Los Angeles Chargers. He plans to speak with the Washington Football Team.
Stills recorded 85 tackles, 25.5 tackles for a loss, 11.5 sacks, an interception, three passes defensed, and a forced fumble in four seasons with the Mountaineers, per West Virginia's athletics site. He registered 25 tackles, 7.5 tackles for a loss, and 3.5 sacks through 10 games as a senior in 2020.
In 2020, Stills earned Consensus All-America and first-team All-Big 12 honors. He is the son of former NFL linebacker Gary Stills.
NFL teams are allowed to conduct up to five video calls per prospect leading to the draft, and each call can last up to one hour. Before the pandemic, NFL teams could physically host visits with up to 30 out-of-region prospects and an uncapped number of local prospects. There is no limit to how many phone conversations NFL teams can conduct with draft-eligible players.
