According to Justin Melo of The Draft Network, the San Francisco 49ers plan to meet virtually with former Syracuse defensive back Trill Williams. He will also meet with the Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons, Oakland Raiders, and several other teams.

Melo notes that there is no consensus on which position Williams will play in the NFL, with some teams picturing the defender as a safety and others seeing him as a cornerback. However, versatility is a trait that head coach Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers value.
There isn't a grand consensus among NFL teams where Williams will play at the next level. Based on their scheme, some teams like him at FS, others like him at CB or at the nickel. He played all 3 positions at Syracuse.

Williams (6-2, 198) recorded 93 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss, four interceptions, 10 passes defensed, and three forced fumbles in three seasons for the Orange, per Syracuse's athletics site. He registered 24 tackles, a tackle for a loss, an interception, and five passes defensed through five games as a junior in 2020 before being hampered by injury and declaring for the draft.
NFL teams are allowed to conduct up to five video calls per prospect leading to the draft, and each call can last up to one hour. There is no limit to how many phone conversations NFL teams can conduct with draft-eligible players.
The NFL Draft is scheduled to begin on April 29.
