The San Francisco 49ers have announced that they have re-signed defensive end Jordan Willis to a one-year deal. The news comes minutes after ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that defensive end Kerry Hyder is joining the Seattle Seahawks on a three-year deal.
The Cincinnati Bengals made Willis a third-round selection out of Kansas State in 2017. He spent his first two NFL seasons with the Bengals.
San Francisco acquired Willis via a trade on October 27, 2020, sending a sixth-round pick in 2022 to the New York Jets in exchange for the defender and a seventh-round pick in 2021. He registered 13 tackles and 2.5 sacks through nine games between the Jets and 49ers in 2020.
Willis, 25, has recorded 65 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 10 tackles for a loss, 14 quarterback hits, a pass defensed, and a forced fumble through his four NFL seasons.
