Kay Adams can’t envision anyone stopping a healthy 49ers offense

The Good Morning Football hosts debated which NFC West offense would have more success in 2021 — the San Francisco 49ers or the Los Angeles Rams. It wasn't much of a debate for most. Peter Schrager, James Palmer, and DeAngelo Hall are excited to see what Rams head coach Sean McVay can draw up in the playbook for quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Kay Adams, however, is excited to see what this revamped 49ers offense does in 2021. Yes, it was San Francisco's defense that spearheaded the team's Super Bowl run during the 2019 season, but the offense proved to be dangerous as well. There were added pieces last offseason, but then injury struck, and the Niners limped to a 6-10 record.

"If you remember their offense in 2019, it was ranked second (in scoring) in the NFL," Adams shared. "I would argue that their offense going into 2021 is a lot better than the NFC Championship-winning Niners team we saw in 2019.

"Since that Super Bowl appearance, they add Brandon Aiyuk. He flashed big-time as a rookie. They added All-Pro lineman Trent Williams last year, Alex Mack this year. They drafted well. Ohio State running back Trey Sermon, he's a third-rounder that can do some things."

And of course, the 49ers still have quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo leading the offense and a rookie that the team is very excited about backing him up. Adams could envision Shanahan creating some special packages for Trey Lance to challenge opposing defenses further.

"To me, the only concern is health," Adams added. "It's the only concern because if everybody's out there, I honestly do not know who is stopping this offense."
