Quick Takeaways

For the third consecutive week, McGlinchey has landed among the five highest-graded players on offense. While his pass-blocking grade was much improved over the past two weeks (73.7, 71.5), it dove to 63.4 in Week 4. However, McGlinchey's run-blocking grade has improved each week this season, starting at 51.8 in Week 1 and ramping up to 83.3 this past weekend.

The quarterbacks landing among the three lowest-graded offensive players is indicative of their up and down performances. Garoppolo exited the game after the first half due to what is being reported as a calf injury. Lance took over in the second half and had some good-looking plays but also had many moments that showed why head coach Kyle Shanahan has repeatedly shut down any quarterback competition talk.

Samuel has amassed a league-leading 490 receiving yards through four games, already surpassing his total from last season, and is 61 percent to his total of 802 yards in 2019. He has earned a top-four offensive grade in three of his four games.

Bosa was the team's highest-graded 49ers defender. He had a sack of Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, increasing his season total to four sacks. Bosa has earned a top-three defensive grade among Niners players in three of his four games. Not bad for a guy coming off a torn ACL.

Hurst came was activated off injured reserve this past weekend and immediately made his presence felt. His 81.1 run-defense grade was the second-highest (Azeez Al-Shaair, 86.3) among San Francisco players.
