49ers promote WR Travis Benjamin, activate two from the practice squad ahead of Cardinals game

The San Francisco 49ers have made the following roster moves ahead of Sunday's Week 5 road game against the Arizona Cardinals.

  • WR Travis Benjamin has been promoted from the practice squad to the active roster
  • TE Tanner Hudson and QB Nate Sudfeld have been activated from the practice squad
  • TE George Kittle has been placed on injured reserve

The 49ers note that new kicker Joey Slye will wear number 14 for Sunday's game.

NBC Sports Bay Area was the first to report that the 49ers were placing Kittle on injured reserve. The tight end has been dealing with a calf injury.

San Francisco enters Sunday's game with a 2-2 record while Arizona is 4-0. Kickoff between the two teams is scheduled for 1:25 p.m. PT from State Farm Stadium. The Cardinals are currently favored by 5 points.
