The San Francisco 49ers hit the road for the regular-season finale as they travel to Los Angeles and take on the Rams. San Francisco has won each of the past five meetings between the two teams, as the Niners look to sweep the season series with the Rams for the third-consecutive season.
The 49ers defeated the Houston Texans, 23-7, in Week 17. San Francisco's offense was led by rookie RB Elijah Mitchell, who rushed for 119 yards on 21 carries while adding two receptions for 11 yards and the first receiving touchdown of his career. His performance marked his fifth game with 100-or-more rushing yards on the season. Making his first home start, QB Trey Lance completed 16 of 23 passing attempts for 249 yards, two touchdowns, and a passer rating of 116.0. WR Deebo Samuel hauled in three receptions for 63 yards and one touchdown, while WR Brandon Aiyuk added four catches for a game-high 94 yards (23.5 average).
On defense, San Francisco sacked Texans QB Davis Mills three times on the day, with DL Arden Key and DL Jordan Willis having 1.0 sack each, and DL Arik Armstead and DL Samson Ebukam splitting a sack. LB Fred Warner and Willis forced Texans fumbles, and LB Marcell Harris registered a career-high 10 tackles and the first interception of his career.
