Why Deebo Samuel has no idea what Odell Beckham Jr. told him after 49ers-Rams

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel and Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. appeared to share a special moment on the sideline after the game. Samuel, clearly hurting after the heartbreaking 20-17 loss in the NFC Championship Game, sat on a bench, trying to deal with the emotions of the defeat.

Beckham went over to Samuel and looked to be trying to console the third-year wideout. So what did the Rams' veteran receiver say? Samuel has no idea.

"To be honest with you, I don't even remember," Samuel admitted. "I was so upset and kind of really wasn't paying attention. But I'll try to chat with him later on."

Samuel added, "The only thing that was going through my head was we just lost the game."

Samuel finished the game with four receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown while adding seven carries for 26 yards. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to beat the Rams, and the 49ers fell one win short of their second Super Bowl appearance in three years.

"For me, it's really tough, and for everybody else, because we left it all out there, and we just came up short," Samuel said.

Now, the 49ers will try to get past this loss and work toward improving for next season. If San Francisco can keep its roster together, it will likely be among the favorites to return to the playoffs.

"I don't know how long it's going to take everybody [to get over this loss], but it's going to take me a little while," Samuel admitted. "We've got to get over it. We can't take nothing back and just get ready for next year."
