San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle made headlines last week, telling Kevin Hart on the LOL Network show, Cold as Balls, that he would love to see the NFL add a second bye week.

"Seventeen games is a lot," Kittle said. "It's a lot of games with one bye, whether it's Week 4 or the bye is Week 11. I'm advocating for two byes."

Kittle is preparing to enter his sixth NFL season. San Francisco made the tight end a fifth-round draft pick in 2017. While he has come close to winning a championship, he has yet to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Kittle came extremely close during the 2019 season. However, he watched his Niners collapse in the fourth quarter against the Kansas City Chiefs and ended up just short. Last season, Kittle and the 49ers were a play or two away from returning to the big game but were knocked off by the eventual Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams in the NFC title game.

Hart asked Kittle, now 28 years old, what his on-field goals are as he heads into a new season.

"Win a Super Bowl," Kittle responded.

Kittle is arguably the best all-around tight end in football right now. A Super Bowl ring paired with continued success throughout his career might cement his status as one of the best ever. Right now, the 49ers tight end is focused on capturing that elusive championship.

"If I just do what I can do and we win a Super Bowl, I think that the rest will just take care of itself," Kittle told Hart.

In his five NFL seasons, Kittle has amassed 335 receptions for 4,489 yards and 20 touchdowns. In 2021, he recorded 71 catches for 910 yards with a career-high six trips into the end zone.

In March, Kittle was one of two 49ers players to restructure his contract so the team could get under the salary cap by the start of the new league year.
