The San Francisco 49ers are retaining their center, Jake Brendel, after the offensive lineman attracted some interest in the free-agency market. NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reports that the team is re-signing Brendel to a four-year deal, revealing that the New York Jets made a push for the offensive lineman.
There were reports that several teams, not just the 49ers and Jets, were interested in Brendel. The deal's value is reportedly $20 million over the length of the contract.
