According to Brad Stainbrook of 247Sports.com, the Cleveland Browns plan to sign former San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Maurice Hurst Jr. to a one-year deal. He is an unrestricted free agent.
The then-Oakland Raiders made Hurst (6-2, 291) a fifth-round selection (No. 140 overall) out of Michigan in 2018. He spent the 2022 season on injured reserve after suffering a torn biceps at the end of July.
Hurst, 27, has recorded 78 tackles, eight sacks, seven passes defensed, an interception, and a forced fumble in 42 game appearances (17 starts) through his four NFL seasons in which he played.
