Harper started his collegiate football career at the College of San Mateo, a junior college, before transferring to Adams State. He had 94 receptions for 1,412 yards and 13 touchdowns in two seasons with the Grizzlies. The receiver also had a rushing touchdown and two scores on special teams, per the team's athletics site.
Playing for the 49ers would be a dream come true for Harper, who grew up in Stockton, California.
"Growing up, my family [are] big 49ers fans [but] if any team came and got me, I'd be grateful for that," Harper told Sports Illustrated.
Harper admits that because of his size, his quickness and speed often surprises evaluators. What is he seeking to achieve at the pro level?
"Just really establishing a name for myself. A lot of people don't know about me or my skill set because I came from a small school," Harper responded.
