In the lead-up to Monday night's face-off against the Minnesota Vikings, the San Francisco 49ers saw running back Christian McCaffrey, wide receiver Deebo Samuel, and tackle Trent Williams miss their second consecutive practice of the week, with just one more session remaining.
During last Sunday's matchup against the Cleveland Browns, McCaffrey and Samuel were forced to exit the game due to injuries. Samuel suffered a shoulder injury in the opening quarter, while McCaffrey sustained an oblique injury in the third.

Williams suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter but fought through the pain, staying in the game.
Trent Williams didn't have a walking boot on in the locker room today but he was moving around with a pronounced limp. If he's not able to go on his sprained right ankle, Jaylon Moore will make his first start since Week 6 last season.

On Friday afternoon, head coach Kyle Shanahan joined Bay Area radio station KNBR for his weekly interview, shedding some light on the statuses of his ailing players. Even though they haven't practiced this week, the coach is keeping the door open for their availability against the Vikings.
"None of them could practice today because of their injuries," Shanahan said on the "Tolbert and Copes" show. "We're not ruling them out for this week. When we say day-to-day, that means we're waiting each day to see how they come in the next morning because they don't have stuff to where they for sure can't play. They have chances to recover here."
One silver lining noted by the coach is the additional day of recovery time thanks to the game being played on Monday night rather than Sunday.
Shanahan added, "They're getting closer, but they haven't been good enough to get out there and practice yet."
