San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke to reporters via a conference call on Monday, a day after the team's 28-16 win over the Seattle Seahawks, providing several injury updates.
Defensive tackle Arik Armstead, one of the 49ers' seven inactive players against the Seahawks, is expected to miss another game due to foot and knee injuries. Linebacker Oren Burks is dealing with knee tendonitis.
"We'll probably have to shut him down here for a couple of weeks," Shanahan said of Burks.
The positive news is that it appears cornerback Charvarius Ward and defensive tackle Javon Hargrave avoided serious injuries and might even have a chance to play against the Arizona Cardinals this weekend. Ward sustained a groin injury early against the Seahawks and did not return to the game. Hargrave exited with a hamstring injury and did not return.
"Maybe a chance, later in this week for this game," Shanahan said of Hargrave. "We'll just to have to monitor to see how this week goes. Charvarius Ward, similar with the status for this week. Maybe towards the end of the week. We'll have to see how it goes."
Linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who exited and returned in the second half of the game due to hip and ankle injuries, is considered day-to-day.
Tight end Ross Dwelley is still recovering from a high-ankle sprain, with Shanahan stating, "We'll see how the week goes."
