Philadelphia Eagles' Head of Security Dom DiSandro has reportedly been banned from the Eagles sideline for the remainder of the 2023 regular season. Rob Maaddi, Senior NFL Writer for the Associated Press, is the first one to report this, citing "two people familiar with the league's decision." Maaddi's sources spoke on condition of anonymity because the NFL has not yet announced its decision.

DiSandro, as you will recall, was involved in a sideline fracas with San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw. The incident began when Greenlaw tackled Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith and threw him to the ground. The Eagles' sideline did not like how Greenlaw had tackled Smith, and when pushing and shoving began, DiSandro inserted himself by pushing Greenlaw backward. Greenlaw retaliated and the two had to be separated. The star linebacker, who was ejected from the game for touching DiSandro's nose, was fined $10,927 a week ago for his unnecessary roughness penalty. DiSandro was also escorted from the sidelines during the 49ers-Eagles game.

Last week, DiSandro was barred from being on Philadelphia's sideline for Sunday night's game against the Cowboys. At the time, it was reported that the NFL was still looking into the incident and that further punishment could come for DiSandro. Today, it appears the NFL has decided to ban DiSandro from the sidelines for the remainder of the regular season.

According to Maaddi, the Eagles' Head of Security "is still allowed to travel with the team to Seattle for its Monday night game and he can perform all other work duties but he is not permitted on the sideline, one of the people said." The incident in Philadelphia prompted the NFL to send out a memo to all teams, asking them to remind staff members that they are not allowed to be "involved with game day altercations and that they must refrain from such involvement."

DiSandro, who joined the Eagles organization in 1999, watched last Sunday's game in Dallas from the tunnel. Although DiSandro will not be allowed sideline access during the regular season, he will be allowed back on the sidelines in the postseason.
