The Washington Commanders are hosting the San Francisco 49ers in a Week 17 clash at FedEx Field.
Several notable 49ers players were sidelined for this matchup. Defensive tackle Arik Armstead missed his fourth consecutive game due to ongoing foot and knee issues. Safety Ji'Ayir Brown missed the game with a knee sprain, while wide receiver Jauan Jennings and tackle Jaylon Moore could not clear the concussion protocol in time for the contest. All were among San Francisco's seven inactive players.
Below are the 49ers-related in-game injury updates.
RB Christian McCaffrey (calf, questionable)
Elijah Mitchell took on a lot of the workload late in the game. That's because star running back Christian McCaffrey is dealing with a calf injury. The 49ers announced that he is "questionable" to return, which may be unnecessary considering how Mitchell has been running the football.
There doesn't appear to be too much concern about McCaffrey on the sideline, which is a good sign. The running back was seen walking around with his helmet, perhaps hoping to return to the game.
