Jordan Love threw three touchdown passes in the Green Bay Packers' 48-32 playoff rout of the Dallas Cowboys. The quarterback has thrown 21 touchdowns compared to just one interception in his past nine outings, including Sunday's Wild Card game.
"He's come a long way. He's playing at such a high level," San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan acknowledged on Tuesday.
On Saturday, it will be up to San Francisco's defense to ensure Love doesn't take over the game. The two teams will clash in a Divisional Playoff matchup at Levi's Stadium, each looking to earn a trip to the NFC title game.
"He's really good at going through his reads, playing the offense to a tee, and we definitely need to stop the run," defensive end Nick Bosa shared. "I don't think many teams have made him uncomfortable yet, so stopping the run and covering up those easy, open guys is something we have to do."
Bosa can see similarities between Love and the 49ers' second-year quarterback, Brock Purdy.
"I think they both go through their reads really smooth, and they're accurate," Bosa said. "I've seen more from Brock in terms of making plays, but we're definitely going to have to be ready for him."
Love is protected on the edges by tackles Rasheed Walker and Zach Tom. Pro Football Focus has the latter ranked 13th during the regular season among offensive tackles. Tom has allowed just one sack in the past 10 games. You can bet that Bosa will be studying those two players extensively over the next few days.
"They look pretty good," Bosa admitted. "I haven't watched too much pass yet, but they look like they get after it in the run, and they're starting for a reason in the NFL, so we'll be ready."
