Head coach Kyle Shanahan announced that tight end George Kittle will not practice today due to a toe injury. The San Francisco 49ers are holding their first on-field work of the week in preparation for Super Bowl 58 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Shanahan remained somewhat elusive when pressed for details about the specifics of Kittle's injury, stating, "It's just a toe."
Additionally, the coach revealed that linebacker Oren Burks and cornerback Ambry Thomas will be limited participants in practice. Burks is contending with a shoulder injury, while Thomas is working through an ankle issue.
Other than that, the 49ers are entering their Super Bowl matchup in relatively good health. The championship showdown against the Chiefs is scheduled for February 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
