While the San Francisco 49ers may be slight favorites to win Super Bowl 58 on Sunday, ESPN's "experts" are heavily leaning towards the Kansas City Chiefs. Of the 64 experts who weighed in on the matchup, 49 chose the Chiefs as champions, accounting for an overwhelming 76.6 percent of the panel.
Fifty-two of the 64 experts predicted that the game would be decided by a touchdown or less.
Among those selecting the Chiefs to win are Dan Graziano, Dan Orlovsky, Field Yates, Matt Miller, Mike Tannenbaum, Mina Kimes, Rex Ryan, and Tedy Bruschi. Fifteen experts, including Jeremy Fowler and Seth Wickersham, picked the 49ers to become Super Bowl champions.
The 49ers are confident heading into their clash with the Chiefs. Wide receiver Jauan Jennings expressed their focus this week, stating, "This whole week, I've just been focused on this one game, and I think that's for everybody. We just know that our whole life depends on this game. That's just how we feel."
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who collected 38 of the 64 votes, is the favorite to win Super Bowl MVP. Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey each received nine votes, while 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy received three.
Super Bowl 58 kicks off on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. PT from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
