Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports that former Missouri State wide receiver Terique Owens worked out in front of more than 20 NFL scouts today at the University of Missouri. Among the scouts present were representatives from the San Francisco 49ers. Owens' performance was highlighted by a 40-yard dash time of 4.51 seconds, a vertical jump of 38.5 inches, and a broad jump of 10 feet, four inches.

Terique Owens is the son of Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens, who spent his first eight NFL seasons with the 49ers.

Maiocco adds that the younger Owens measured at a height of 6' 1 7/8" before the workout.

According to ESPN statistics, Owens had his most productive collegiate season in 2023, with 28 receptions for 528 yards (18.9-yard average) and four touchdowns with the Bears. Only Raylen Sharpe had more receiving yards (991) on the team.

While his father was known for his passionate and vocal presence on the field, Terique describes himself differently.

"I don't have a loud personality," Owens recently told NFL Draft Diamonds. For the most part, I'm fairly quiet, and I keep my head down and work."

When asked what he might bring to an NFL team, Owens stated, "My ability to get the ball downfield and be a deep threat. And I can make moves after catch to extend plays and get Y.A.C. I able to threaten defenders with my speed."

Owens isn't the only son of a famed former 49ers wide receiver aiming for an NFL career. Brenden Rice, the son of legendary Jerry Rice and a former USC wide receiver, is also seeking an NFL opportunity. San Francisco plans to host Brenden on a pre-draft visit.
