49ers announce Levi’s Stadium upgrades aimed at enhancing fan experience

Following the venue's 10-year anniversary in July, the 49ers are investing in Levi's® Stadium to propel it into the next 10 years and beyond

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Today, the 49ers and Levi's® Stadium are announcing several new venue features that will enhance the fan experience and maintain the building's status as a world-class venue. This follows the stadium's 10-year anniversary and comes in preparation for 2026, when Levi's® Stadium will become the first venue in history to host a FIFA World Cup and Super Bowl in the same year.

Thanks to core 49ers corporate partners, numerous stadium and club areas will have a refreshed look and feel. Fans arriving to the stadium from the north will now enter via Xfinity Gate A, and the Cache Creek Field Club will host an all inclusive buffet for select ticket holders for the 2024 season.

New technology upgrades will keep the Faithful more connected than ever. Levi's® Stadium now features fast and reliable free Wi-Fi presented by Xfinity. The new Cisco Wi-Fi 6 infrastructure features 1,300 access points that provide for high speed internet in every location. Further, the stadium plans to upgrade its wireless network presented by Verizon. With the help of America Fujikura Ltd. (AFL), the stadium will feature a new 5G Distributed Antenna System (DAS) that will ensure fans have the best connectivity of any building in the NFL. On the main concourse, frictionless concession stands will provide an alternative, cashierless way for fans to obtain basic food and beverage.

"Together, with our 49ers Faithful fans, members and corporate and event partners, we have collectively made Levi's® Stadium a world-class sports and entertainment destination," said Brent Schoeb, 49ers Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer. "Throughout our first decade at Levi's® Stadium, we have cultivated an award-winning experience. As we embark on the next decade of 49ers games, Super Bowl 60, FIFA World Cup, concerts and other events, we will continue investing in the fan experience."

In preparation to host some of the world's biggest sporting events in 2026, the 49ers are investing $200 million back into Levi's® Stadium, which will be used in multiple areas including the stadium's luxury spaces. Adding 20 additional field seats will expand the team's proven success creating field-level experiences, while the Graton Winners Club will service over 2,000 fans and feature two new open-air patio bars and other fan-facing activations. Additionally, over 120 luxury suites in Levi's® Stadium are being remodeled to include modern furnishings and technology. Half of all suite renovations were completed this past offseason and the remaining half will be completed ahead of the 2025 season.

Several other major projects will be carried out ahead of the 2025 season, including new state-of-the-art video boards, which will give Levi's® Stadium the largest 4K display in the league. Another 13,000 square feet of LED screens will also be upgraded, while a new LED field lighting system will brighten the playing surface for primetime night games while conserving energy. This combination will give fans at Levi's® Stadium a best-in-class visual entertainment experience.

"After executing a packed non-NFL events schedule including five soccer matches and three concerts, our stadium operations team has turned the page to football," said Francine Melendez Hughes, Executive Vice President & General Manager, Stadium Operations. "We have been hard at work renovating and upgrading parts of the stadium for fans, but the work isn't done yet. Some of our biggest projects are still to come. We are excited to continue innovating to give fans one of the best viewing experiences in the NFL."

Finally, Levi's® Stadium is proud to have been recently awarded LEED Gold Certification for Operations and Maintenance of an Existing Building by the U.S. Green Building Council. This marks the venue's third LEED Gold Certification. The first came in 2014 for BD+C: New Construction; the second, in 2016 for O+M: Existing Buildings. These recognitions help cement Levi's® Stadium as a leader in sustainability.
