Notes

Running back Christian McCaffrey was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday but did not participate in Friday's session. He missed the Week 1 matchup against the New York Jets and has been working to recover from a calf strain and Achilles tendinitis—injuries that sidelined him for most of training camp and the entire preseason.

The 49ers have ruled Christian McCaffrey out for Week 2. Head coach Kyle Shanahan mentioned that the team is now considering placing the running back on injured reserve, which would sideline him for at least four games.

"It's something we're considering now," Shanahan said. "Yeah, yesterday was his worst day. It's on and off, but with yesterday having the most pain, it's something we're going to be discussing here the next 24 hours."

Safety Talanoa Hufanga, defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos, linebacker Dee Winters, and wide receiver Jauan Jennings all participated in the team's final practice of the week.

Below are Friday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Vikings, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
