The Pro Football Hall of Fame has announced its list of 167 modern-era players nominated for induction into the Class of 2025. Among the nominees are three former San Francisco 49ers: offensive tackle Joe Staley, tight end Vernon Davis, and tight end Delanie Walker. All three last played in 2019, making them eligible for consideration following the mandatory five-year waiting period.

A screening committee will narrow the list to 50 players by mid-October, which will be further reduced to 25 semifinalists later in the fall. The final 15 players will be selected ahead of Super Bowl LVIX, with the Class of 2025 consisting of three to five modern-era players, in accordance with Hall of Fame bylaws.
