San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy reported some back soreness to the team on Monday following their Week 3 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. As the team begins preparations to host the New England Patriots at Levi's Stadium this Sunday, Purdy's status was a key concern.
An MRI revealed no issues, and on Wednesday, head coach Kyle Shanahan delivered positive news, confirming that Purdy was cleared for full participation in practice. This is an encouraging development for the 49ers, who are looking to bounce back from a 1-2 start to the season and back-to-back losses.
Shanahan also shared that wide receiver Deebo Samuel, dealing with a calf strain sustained in Week 2, will not practice and is expected to miss Sunday's game. Additionally, tackle Trent Williams (illness), defensive tackle Javon Hargrave (triceps), and linebacker Dee Winters (ankle) won't practice. Hargrave is expected to land on injured reserve.
Tight end George Kittle, who sat out the Rams game with a hamstring injury, will be limited in Wednesday's session.
