The San Francisco 49ers received more bad injury news on Thursday. After reporters witnessed linebacker Curtis Robinson being carted off the practice field with a knee injury, defensive tackle Jordan Elliott also went down, as reported by Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group. The team later confirmed that Elliott sustained a foot injury.

This latest injury is particularly concerning, given the sudden lack of depth along the interior of the defensive line. Starter Javon Hargrave suffered a partially torn triceps during Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Rams and is expected to be placed on injured reserve, likely missing the remainder of the season. The 49ers were counting on Elliott to step up in Hargrave's absence.

"It sucks anytime you see a teammate go down or anything like that," quarterback Brock Purdy said after practice. "I'm just trying to practice, get ready for this game and everything, and you look over and see a cart on the field. So, it's like, 'Alright, dang it, who is that? What happened?' And then we've got to keep going and finish practice."

Elliott spent his first four seasons with the Cleveland Browns before signing a two-year deal with the 49ers in March. The severity of his injury remains unclear.

During his weekly interview on Bay Area radio station KNBR, head coach Kyle Shanahan mentioned that the 49ers hope to get Kalia Davis back from injured reserve in the next couple of weeks.

"We'll bring one (defensive tackle) off practice squad this weekend because we always like to have at least four up for a game," Shanahan added.
