San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan shared some unfortunate news on Tuesday. Safety Talanoa Hufanga, who exited Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals with an injury, has been diagnosed with torn ligaments in his wrist following further evaluations. Initially, Shanahan did not have an update during his Monday conference call, but by Tuesday, it became clear that Hufanga will miss significant time.
"It will be at least a month, probably longer," Shanahan stated.
The team is considering placing Hufanga on injured reserve, which would sideline him for at least four games. However, nothing has been decided yet.
The 49ers are uncertain how long it will take for Moody's high-ankle sprain to heal, but Shanahan speculated it could be around a month. Moody is also a candidate for injured reserve.
Cornerback Charvarius Ward will be limited after suffering a knee bruise in Sunday's game. At the same time, tight end George Kittle (ribs), linebacker Fred Warner (ankle), wide receiver Chris Conley (oblique), and safety Ji'Ayir Brown (ankle) are also expected to participate in a limited capacity.
