49ers place Brandon Aiyuk on IR, announce other roster moves

The San Francisco 49ers have promoted defensive lineman Evan Anderson from the practice squad to the active roster. To make room on the roster, the team officially placed wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk on the injured reserve list. Aiyuk suffered a torn ACL and MCL on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Additionally, the team has signed offensive lineman Dieter Eiselen and wide receiver Malik Turner to the practice squad.

The 49ers Communications staff provided the following rundown.


Anderson (6-3, 326) originally entered the NFL after signing with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2024. He has appeared in two games and registered four tackles, 1.0 sack, 1.0 tackle for loss and one forced fumble.

A 22-year-old native of Orlando, FL Anderson attended Florida Atlantic University where he appeared in 39 games and registered 145 tackles, 20.0 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks, three fumble recoveries and 2 passes defensed.


Eiselen (6-4, 300) originally entered the NFL after signing with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent on April 28, 2020. Throughout his five-year career with the Bears (2020-22), Houston Texans (2023-24) and Denver Broncos (2024) he has appeared in 24 regular season games and two postseason contests. Eiselen signed with the Broncos practice squad on October 8, 2024 before being released by the team on October 19.

A 28-year-old native of Wallingford, CT Eiselen attended the Yale University where he appeared in 24 games and earned First-Team All-Ivy League his senior season (2018).


Turner (6-2, 202) originally entered the NFL after signing with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent on July 29, 2018. Throughout his six-year career with the Seahawks (2018-19), Dallas Cowboys (2020-21) and San Francisco 49ers (2022) he has appeared in 44 games (three starts) and registered 29 receptions for 414 yards and four touchdowns. Turner appeared in three games with the 49ers in 2022. He then spent time with the Las Vegas Raiders and Houston Texans practice squads and spent the 2023 training camp with the Indianapolis Colts. In 2024, Turner signed with the 49ers on July 25 and was released by the team on August 8.

A 28-year-old native of Springfield, IL, Turner attended the University of Illinois where he appeared in 46 games (35 starts) and registered 143 receptions for 1,804 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Aiyuk (6-0, 200) started all seven games he appeared in and totaled 25 receptions for 374 yards this season.
