San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy appears to be making strides in his recovery from a shoulder injury. During the portion of Friday's practice open to the media, Purdy was seen throwing—a notable improvement after limited activity earlier in the week.

Purdy threw only a few casual tosses on Wednesday, and Thursday's practice was closed to the media.
Purdy's progress has fueled optimism about his availability for Sunday night's matchup against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium. After missing last weekend's loss to the Green Bay Packers, the quarterback seems to be on track to return to action.

The 49ers, now 5-6, aim to turn things around in a critical primetime clash. Purdy has thrown for 2,613 yards, 13 touchdowns, and eight interceptions through 10 games this season. His return could provide a much-needed spark for a team looking to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Other participation notes
Several key players were noticeably absent from Friday's practice session. Tackle Trent Williams (ankle), defensive end Nick Bosa (hip, oblique), cornerback Deommodore Lenoir (knee), and guard Aaron Banks (concussion) were among those not present at the start of practice.
Following the session, the 49ers will release their official injury report, including game status updates.
