As the San Francisco 49ers prepare for their Thursday night NFC West showdown against the Los Angeles Rams, there remains uncertainty around linebacker Dre Greenlaw's status. While he is expected to play, the team has yet to announce whether he will be activated off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. Meanwhile, several players have already been ruled out, and others remain questionable heading into game time.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that running back Isaac Guerendo plans to play through the ankle injury he sustained on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. However, Schefter noted there is no guarantee on how much Guerendo will contribute, as the rookie will push through his discomfort.
Defensive end Nick Bosa, like Guerendo, is listed as questionable for Week 15. Bosa aims to avoid missing his fourth consecutive game while dealing with hip and oblique injuries.
Neither Bosa nor Guerendo participated in the 49ers' only full practice of the week, which took place on Tuesday. However, both were limited participants in Wednesday's light walk-through.
Who's out?
The 49ers have officially ruled out three players for the matchup against the Rams—safety Malik Mustapha and offensive linemen Ben Bartch and Trent Williams.
Bartch's absence was expected. The offensive lineman suffered a high-ankle sprain during the Bears game and will likely be placed on injured reserve before kickoff. Similarly, Williams remains sidelined with an ankle injury, missing his fourth consecutive game as he continues to work toward returning to practice.
Mustapha's absence, however, comes as a bit of a surprise. The rookie safety sustained chest and shoulder injuries early in the game against the Bears but managed to play 45 defensive snaps despite the setbacks. His injuries will keep him out of Thursday night's game.
The 49ers and Rams will play at 5:15 p.m. PT at Levi's Stadium. Ninety minutes before kickoff, both teams will release their inactive players lists.
