NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports that the San Francisco 49ers plan to activate linebacker Dre Greenlaw from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list ahead of Thursday night's game against the Los Angeles Rams. The move will likely be finalized as part of the team's pre-game roster adjustments, which are expected to be announced this afternoon.

The 49ers opened Greenlaw's practice window on November 27. He has been sidelined for 10 months after tearing his Achilles in last season's Super Bowl. While Greenlaw is expected to play, Rapoport added, "He'll ease his way back in tonight."

The 49ers made Greenlaw a fifth-round draft pick in 2019. Last season, he recorded 120 tackles, including five for a loss, four quarterback hits, four passes defensed, and 1.5 sacks. His return could provide a significant boost to a 49ers squad sitting at 6-7 and fighting to stay in playoff contention.

Linebacker Fred Warner shared his excitement about Greenlaw's return.

"It means everything," Warner said. "I've been waiting for that moment for the entire season. To potentially have him out there again with me, it means everything."

The 49ers are set to kick off against the Rams at 5:15 p.m. PT at Levi's Stadium.
