After Sunday's game at Hard Rock Stadium, San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa and Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel shared a lighthearted postgame exchange on the field.
"Good to see you. Congrats," Bosa told McDaniel.
In response, McDaniel quipped, "Thanks, man. South Florida is pretty cool."
Bosa spends much of his offseason in South Florida training with his brother, Los Angeles Chargers pass rusher Joey Bosa.
Naturally, social media quickly took the brief interaction in an unexpected direction, with some speculating that McDaniel might have been subtly recruiting the 49ers star—an act that would be considered tampering since Bosa is under contract with San Francisco through the 2028 season.
On Thursday, reporters couldn't resist asking Bosa about the viral moment. His response?
"Just an awkward Mike McDaniel moment," Bosa said.
When asked if that was "normal behavior" for McDaniel, Bosa nodded with a slight smile, adding to the lightheartedness of the situation.
Bosa and the 49ers are focused on closing out the season strong. On Monday night, they will host the Detroit Lions before wrapping up their schedule with a road game against the Arizona Cardinals.
