The San Francisco 49ers have announced that they interviewed Iowa State pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach Noah Pauley for their vacant offensive coordinator position.

Last week, head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed that the 49ers planned to promote assistant coach Klay Kubiak to offensive coordinator. However, this announcement violated NFL rules, as teams are required to conduct an open search for offensive coordinator positions. As a result, the 49ers have—at least temporarily—paused Kubiak's official promotion.

Pauley recently completed his second season coaching wide receivers at Iowa State and was named passing game coordinator in 2024.

Before his time at Iowa State, Pauley served as wide receivers coach at North Dakota State from 2019 to 2022. He also spent five years on the coaching staff at his alma mater, Minnesota-Duluth.
