Former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh is gaining attention in the coaching market. He is scheduled to interview with the Las Vegas Raiders tomorrow for their head coach vacancy, having already met with the Jacksonville Jaguars for the same role.
Additionally, Saleh recently interviewed virtually with the San Francisco 49ers regarding their defensive coordinator position.
Now, another opportunity has surfaced. Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reports that the Dallas Cowboys want to speak with Saleh about their head coaching vacancy after parting ways with Mike McCarthy. The Cowboys represent an attractive destination for any coaching candidate, given their rich history.
Ex-Jets coach Robert Saleh will arrive in Vegas tonight and interview for the Raiders job tomorrow, per sources. He's still working out timing/travel with the Cowboys, but that could happen before the weekend is out too.

The 49ers are reportedly ready to offer Saleh their defensive coordinator job, which would reunite him with head coach Kyle Shanahan. Saleh previously served as San Francisco's defensive coordinator from 2017 to 2020, where his leadership was instrumental in the team's Super Bowl run during the 2019 season.
In 2024, Saleh worked as an offensive consultant with the Green Bay Packers,
San Francisco is searching for a replacement for Nick Sorensen, whose defense underperformed in 2024, contributing to the team's disappointing 6-11 record and its first playoff absence since 2020.
In addition to Saleh, the 49ers have interviewed Detroit Lions defensive passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach Deshea Townsend. Shanahan also named assistant head coach Brandon Staley as a candidate for the defensive coordinator role.
