San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch will have a familiar face in the building this season. Head coach Kyle Shanahan has hired Lynch's son, Jake Lynch, as a defensive quality control coach, marking his first role on an NFL staff.
Jake Lynch spent last season as a defensive graduate assistant with the Washington Huskies. He played linebacker with the Stanford Cardinal from 2019 to 2021, appearing in 16 games and recording three tackles over his collegiate career.
Lynch worked in finance during the two years between his playing career and his coaching role with the Huskies.
