The San Francisco 49ers have officially announced that running back Patrick Taylor Jr. has been re-signed to a one-year deal. NFL insider Tom Pelissero first reported Taylor's return on March 10.

Taylor started one game last season, rushing for 24 yards on eight carries in a Week 16 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. However, he made a bigger impact in the 49ers' season finale against the Arizona Cardinals, registering 109 yards on 17 carries (6.4 yards per carry) after Isaac Guerendo exited with an injury.
The 49ers Communications staff provided the following rundown.
Taylor Jr. (6-2, 217) originally entered the NFL after signing with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2020. Throughout his four-year NFL career with the Packers (2020-23) and 49ers (2024) he has appeared in 47 games (one start) and registered 104 carries for 444 yards (4.3 average) and two touchdowns on the ground to go along with 17 receptions for 94 yards through the air. He has also appeared in three postseason contests and registered three carries for six yards (2.0 average).
In 2024, Taylor appeared in 13 games (one start) and tallied 39 carries for 183 yards (4.7 average) to go along with three receptions for 25 yards.
A 26-year-old native of Humble, TX, Taylor attended the University of Memphis (2014-16), where he appeared in 45 games (four starts) and registered 536 rushes for 2,884 yards (5.4 average) and 36 touchdowns as well as tallying 55 receptions for 434 yards and three touchdowns. He finished his collegiate career with 3,322 yards from scrimmage and 39 touchdowns.
