Former San Francisco 49ers tight end Eric Saubert is joining a division rival. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Saubert is signing with the Seattle Seahawks.
Saubert (6-5, 248) was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the fifth round (No. 174 overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Drake University, where he was a standout pass-catching tight end. Saubert finished his college career with 191 receptions for 2,253 yards and 21 touchdowns.
In 2024, Saubert played 17 games (three starts) for the 49ers, recording 11 receptions for 97 yards and a touchdown while playing 35 percent of the offensive snaps, per Pro Football Reference.
Saubert, 30, has appeared in 101 games (19 starts) and has accumulated 47 receptions for 389 yards and three touchdowns over eight NFL seasons.
In addition to his stints with the Falcons and 49ers, the journeyman player has spent time with the Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, and Houston Texans.
