Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network reports that the San Francisco 49ers recently held a virtual meeting with wide receiver Arian Smith, Georgia's leading receiver last season. Fowler describes Smith as "one of the most explosive pass-catches in the class."
Busy last few weeks for Georgia WR Arian Smith.
One of the most explosive pass-catchers in the class, Smith met virtually with the offensive staffs of the Patriots, Titans, 49ers, and Raiders last week, and will meet with the Commanders today, source said.

At the start of the new league year, the 49ers traded wide receiver Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders, while Brandon Aiyuk is recovering from ACL and MCL injuries sustained last October. Aiyuk is not expected to be ready for the start of the season.

Heading into the draft, the team's top wideouts for quarterback Brock Purdy are Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall, with many expecting the 49ers to select a receiver next month, perhaps one with some speed.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, Smith posted a standout 40-yard dash time of 4.36 seconds, along with a vertical jump of 38 inches and a broad jump of 10 feet, 7 inches.
"Smith is the fastest player on the field," Lance Zierlein wrote in his NFL.com scouting report. "If a cornerback presses him and misses, he better have safety help because Smith averaged 36.5 yards on his 10 career touchdown receptions."
Smith (6-0, 179) recorded 48 receptions for 817 yards and four touchdowns during the 2024 season, per Sports Reference. Over his collegiate career, he tallied 68 catches for 1,356 yards and 10 touchdowns.
