The San Francisco 49ers traded wide receiver Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders this offseason. Brandon Aiyuk is recovering from ACL and MCL injuries, casting doubt on his availability for Week 1. With Jauan Jennings and rookie Ricky Pearsall currently leading the depth chart, the team may look to the upcoming draft to strengthen the receiving corps ahead of the 2025 season.
Two local wide receiver prospects are expected to attend the 49ers' local pro day on Wednesday. According to Matt Barrows of The Athletic, Stanford's Elic Ayomanor—initially reported by Brad Graham—and San Jose State's Nick Nash are slated to be in Santa Clara for the event.
Cal linebacker Teddye Buchanan is also expected to be in attendance.
While all three prospects are planning to attend, Barrows notes it's unclear whether any of them will participate in on-field workouts in front of head coach Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers' staff.
"There might be a half dozen or so draft-able players on hand," Barrows noted.
I don't know if any of these guys will work, but Stanford WR Elic Ayomanor, Cal LB Teddye Buchanan and San Jose State WR Nick Nash are among those expected to attend the 49ers' local pro day tomorrow. There might be a half dozen or so draft-able players on hand.
