Chris Trapasso's latest 7-round mock draft for CBS Sports features some bold moves by the San Francisco 49ers, including two trade-ups and a surprising slide by one of the top offensive tackles in this year's class.
Trapasso has Missouri's Armand Membou as the first offensive tackle off the board, going to the New York Giants with the No. 3 overall pick. Surprisingly, no other offensive tackles are selected before the 49ers are on the clock at No. 11. That allows San Francisco to snag LSU's Will Campbell, bolstering protection for quarterback Brock Purdy.
"The 49ers gladly stop the fall for Campbell with the future in mind at left tackle," Trapasso wrote.
With All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams turning 37 ahead of the 2025 season, Campbell would serve as his eventual successor.
In the second round, Trapasso projects the 49ers to select UCLA linebacker Carson Schwesinger at No. 43 overall. He then has San Francisco making its first trade, moving up to pick No. 63, a spot previously owned by the Kansas City Chiefs, to select Florida State cornerback Azareye'h Thomas. In the deal, the Chiefs receive two picks—Nos. 75 and 138.
Trapasso projects the 49ers to make another trade on Day 2, sending two picks—Nos. 100 and 113—to the Dallas Cowboys to move up to No. 76 overall, where they select Toledo defensive tackle Darius Alexander.
Trapasso also addresses several other team needs on Day 3, including depth along the defensive line, backfield, and interior offensive line, while adding a wide receiver and a linebacker late.
