According to Justin Melo of The Draft Network, the San Francisco 49ers are among the NFL teams that hosted Toledo defensive tackle Darius Alexander for a pre-draft visit in Santa Clara. I confirmed with Melo that this was a top-30 visit with the team.

In 2024, Alexander tallied 40 tackles (eight for a loss), 3.5 sacks, four passes defensed, an interception, and a touchdown over 12 games, per Sports Reference. Across five collegiate seasons, he amassed 127 tackles (23 for a loss), nine sacks, 13 passes defensed, one interception, and one touchdown.
Although listed as a defensive tackle, Alexander's versatility has caught the attention of NFL teams.
"A lot of teams have me playing the three-technique or as a defensive end," Alexander told Melo in a recent interview. "They see me being versatile enough to play both."
At the NFL Scouting Combine, Alexander measured 6-foot-4 and 305 pounds. He recorded a 4.95-second 40-yard dash, a 31.5-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot-3 broad jump, and 28 reps on the bench press.
NFL.com projects Alexander as a second-round pick, while Pro Football Focus ranks him as the seventh-best interior defender and the No. 49 overall prospect on its big board.
"I just want to come in and keep my head down," Alexander said. "I'm ready to run through a brick wall for my team. I'm going to play good football, contribute, and help the team win."
