This was a complete embarrassment. I don't care who you are, you did not predict this. While it was possible the 49ers could lose to Miami, this was not at all what anyone would have thought. What we witnessed was totally unacceptable.

1) The offensive line is still a real problem

This was supposed to be the week the line rebounded and the offense got back on track. The offensive line was terrible. There were both physical and mental mistakes the entire game.

One thought for a change, which may be needed, is to slide Ben Garland to right guard when Weston Richburg returns. We'll see how it goes next week, but some changes could be coming.

No matter what, this has to get fixed starting next week or there won't be any playoff games this year.

2) Brian Allen

Brian Allen was abysmal. He got burned on nearly every snap or he committed a penalty.

That said, this was on Robert Saleh. After the first two drives, there needed to be an adjustment. There were none until it was too late.

The injuries are a partial excuse, but not really. The whole defense did not play well. There was little pressure and as a result, the weakest spot of the 49ers was exposed and Saleh left it exposed for way too long.

Richard Sherman and Emmanuel Moseley should be back but will the defense be fixed?

3) Jimmy Garoppolo did not look ready

Yes, the offensive line was bad, but not every play. There were opportunities to keep pace with the Dolphins, but Garoppolo was repeatedly inaccurate.

By the end of the second quarter, things were out of hand and the right move was to bench Garoppolo. C.J. Beathard didn't perform much better, but Garoppolo deserves a chunk of the criticism for this game.

4) Coaching

I put this game more on Kyle Shanahan and Robert Saleh than anyone else. The 49ers looked completely unprepared. There was little to no intensity, the playcalling was subpar, at best, early in the game, and there were almost no defensive adjustments until it was too late.

This was the game that could have gotten this season back on track, but instead, it was a complete disaster.

If the 49ers don't play a lot better next week against the Rams, they will be 2-4, with two division losses and three conference losses. That is a formula for missing the postseason.

Hopefully, at the end of next week's game, we will be talking about getting this season back on track instead of who San Francisco will be drafting.
