Nearing the halfway point of the NFL season, I got back on track in Week 7. The league is taking shape, and the 49ers are in the thick of an NFC West race. Up to this point, no game has been this big for the 49ers in this 2020 season. Let's get to the picks.

Why SF Wins: Three words: all white jerseys. The last time these 2 teams played, LB Dre Greenlaw completely stuffed Seahawks TE Jacob Hollister at the 1-yard line and sent the 49ers to the playoffs as the #1 seed in the NFC. This alone will be the reason why the 49ers win. Just kidding. The real reason the 49ers will win this game is due to their recently stabilized offensive line and Seattle's league-worst defense. The 49ers offense just hung 34 points on a Bill Belichick defense, so they should have no problems with Seattle's impotent defense. Russell Wilson has been an MVP-caliber player in 2020, but a rejuvenated 49ers pass defense led by the cornerback duo of Jason Verrett and Emmanuel Moseley will limit Seattle just enough for the 49ers to come out of Seattle with a humongous win.

Why SF Loses: Pardon my lack of impartiality, but it ain't happening. The Seahawks scammed their way to 5-0, and Arizona exposed that in Week 7. Let us not forget that this is a team that was on the brink of losing to the 1-5 Vikings, and would have lost the game if not for a bad 4th down call by Mike Zimmer with less 2 minutes to go. Seattle is much more of a 4-3 team than it is a 5-1 team and the 49ers will put this on full display on Sunday.

Prediction: As confident I am the 49ers will win, it will still be a hard fought battle to get the W. In the end, Jimmy Garoppolo will play the hero and put up a gaudy stat line while leading San Francisco to its biggest win of the season so far. 49ers 41 - Seahawks 27
