Today, the San Francisco 49ers are holding their first (and only) practice that is open to fans. It is being held at Kezar Stadium in Golden Gate Park in front of about 9,000 fans. Two of our writers, Aaron Erickson and Zain Naqvi have media access and are covering the event.
Below are some of the best posts on Twitter from 49ers beat writers and our own staff on hand. This page will be updated – with the newest posts at the top – as the event progresses, so check back often.
Chip Kelly said Armstead would practice. He did individual drills but no team drills.

Taylor looked quick, Draughn was used at slot WR @ times, Davis got stuck a lot, Hyde looks the most comfortable picking a seam & hitting it
— Aaron Erickson (@EricksonAaron44) August 10, 2016
RBs tough to observe in practice. They were boxed in by defense, tough to guess which tackles they'd run through/around with no tackling.
— Aaron Erickson (@EricksonAaron44) August 10, 2016
All done here at Kezar. Davis, Bowman, Staley, Miller, and Beadles kind enough to stop foe interviews before being rushed to buses.

Defense dominating 11 on 11. QBs struggling, coverage tight.

Kap clearly not on the same page as the WRs today, Gabbert throwing the ball out of bounds in training camp. Not the best day for the 49ers
— Kevin Jones (@Mr_KevinJones) August 10, 2016
Rough 11-on-11 session for Gabbert: two incompletions, one under pressure, and a couple of scrambles.
— Matt Maiocco (@MaioccoCSN) August 10, 2016
Rough 11-on-11 session for Kaepernick: Telegraphed near pick; he and Jerome Simpson not on the same page on next play.
— Matt Maiocco (@MaioccoCSN) August 10, 2016
Not a good 11v11 series there by Kaepernick: short completion, incomplete, scramble, incomplete, near INT. Not sharp today (but runs well)
— Cam Inman (@CamInman) August 10, 2016
#49ers QB Colin Kaepernick continues to look down WR on seams. SS Antoine Bethea saw that coming from a mile away but couldn't hold onto INT
— Ryan Sakamoto (@SakamotoRyan) August 10, 2016
Team session 3: Gabbert completed 3-4 in red zone session. Kaepernick was 1-2 with a dropped snap from Marcus Martin.

Kap off on 1st 7 on 7 series, better in 2nd, but drive stalls when Draughn goes out shy of sticks on 3rd & Miller slips out of break on 4th.

Kap much sharper in second round of 7-on-7s
— Zain N. (@zain49ers) August 10, 2016
Team session 2: Kaepernick 5-11. Gabbert 3-5, incl. 35-yd TD to DeAndrew White after pass slipped through hands of leaping Rashard Robinson.
— Matt Maiocco (@MaioccoCSN) August 10, 2016

Bad luck good luck for Gabbert in 7 on 7. 2 dropped passes, including perfect fade to Simpson. Then, dropped INT gets snatched for TD.

Star of the 49ers' practice in San Francisco: Punter Bradley Pinion
— Kevin Jones (@Mr_KevinJones) August 10, 2016

— Aaron Erickson (@EricksonAaron44) August 10, 2016
Pinion breaks ST drill, bombing 70 yard punt that drops onto RBs. Helmetless Hyde's attempt to return it cut short by a barrage of whistles.

#49ers conclude first session of 7-on-7: Kaepernick 4-4, Gabbert 3-4. All underneath or swing passes.
— Matt Maiocco (@MaioccoCSN) August 10, 2016
As expected, Chip's offense scheming guys open on drags and shake-outs. Ellington too quick for OLBS underneath.
— Aaron Erickson (@EricksonAaron44) August 10, 2016
Brown, Tiller work well together vs Buckner in double team drill, but rookie doesn't give ground. Got turned around, though.
