I agree with Week 12.

If teams want to mortgage their future's for the present, let them. I mean it worked in hoops.......

The trade was Jamal Crawford for Butler right?

I remember that Butler came back and tore it up the last week.

And Jamal Crawford ended up getting shut down for the last week.

So that trade wouldn't have won you anything.

Or did I get the trade wrong, I don't remember exactly.

Nah, never had Crawford. It was Rondo and either Artest or AK47 (can't remember which) for Caron.

Hmm...
24th pick-WR Steve Smith

25th pick-RB Ronnie Brown

Idk why Steve dropped like so...he was the reason I traded up...I guess I shouldnt complain...I just feel like theres something going on about him that I dont know about lol, thats always how I feel when I see guys drop that I dont feel should be dropping...

It was the 2nd pick that gave me trouble...but in the end I decided to go with the Auburn kid...we'll see how that turns out...theres a reason why I wanted to trade this pick away lol

My bad for the wait fellas...

From all the previous posts, he dropped essentially because Jake is his QB. And Smith does have some injury concerns. Misses about a couple games a year. But for the last pick in the 2nd rd, he is a very good pick up.

Because Jake is his QB? Theres gotta be more than that...I mean...hello...Jakes been his QB since 2003...and Steves been kicking ass every damn year hes had him...the only concern is, if Jake ever becomes a CONSISTENT QB then what kind of monstrous numbers is Steve capable of putting up?

Idk, I just feel like either maybe Jake really did scare everyone or once again, theres something both you and I do not know of Mr. Smith...

Butler was injured at the time, without knowing if he will come back or when. It was def. Rondo + someone else who was also good fantasy player.

I was so close to picking Steve Smith, but I don't trust Jake Delhomme.

I have a strong suspicion that the Panthers move on from the Delhomme experiment sooner rather than later. It's just a gut feeling after watching Jake throw 5 interceptions and fumble the ball once in the Divisional Round against Arizona. I remember saying to myself....Jake Delhomme's time in Carolina is winding down. He's a mediocre quarterback who only looks good because Steve Smith is an amazing receiver. And Steve Smith's stats without Jake Delhomme are very very average.

^^^

I think they gave him an contract extension this summer, so I don't think they are moving on. The reason I passed on Steve Smith is, I don't think Jake can stay healthy for a full season...and they don't have any backups. In my opinion, Wayne is just as good a fantasy player as Smith, so I went with Wayne. Less risky

They will regret giving him that contract pretty soon. He is a mediocre quarterback who is 34 years old.

I remember in 2005 when Rodgers was dropping in the draft, I thought the Panthers were going to draft and groom him to replace Delhomme.

Yeah, there was at least five teams I thought would take Rodgers.

Uh...yeah...because he only did not have Delhomme for 2 years...his rookie year, where he was their primary PR and KR guy and where both years his QB was who?

Chris Weinke...

Yeup. 100% agreement there. I was pretty surprised by that contract extension. Mediocre, 34years old, with back problems, and no backup QB - more than enough to scare me.

2007. Steve Smith was the 16th best receiver in fantasy football, behind guys like Bobby Engram and Kevin Curtis.

David Carr started 4 games, 80 year old Vinny Testaverde started 6 games, Matt Moore started 3 games. Delhomme missed 13 games.

Anytime Delhomme has missed games, Steve Smith has suffered.

Three years ago, Delhomme missed a game with a thumb injury. The legendary Weinke stepped in and Steve Smith put up a bagel. 0 catches, 0 receiving yards
