***Fantasy Football Thread***

Who are your guys must-haves this season? By must-have, meaning, guys I'm taking 1-3 rounds earlier than expected.
I like to stay flexible, with specific targets in each round. Foe the purpose of this exercise, I'm probably higher on Josh Jacobs than most.

For me, 1st round I want a 5-6th pick and I want Amon-Ra St Brown. I feel like he's WR1 this season. He was top 5 last season and he had a torn muscle in his oblique or whatever. Incredible. Dude is just a baller.
WR1 is definitely possible, but I'd rather gamble on CeeDee, Hill, Chase. 5th or 6th pick is definitely appropriate for ARSB, tho I'll probably more often go Bijan/Breece Hero RB if the 3 previously mentioned are all gone.

I am also trying to target one of the rookie WRs... Marvin Harrison Jr, Nabers. How early are you drafting him?
I also like the KC Rookie and I think Hollywood Brown could be an elite flex option.
It is highly unlikely for Harrison (inflated ADP for a rook) or Nabers (bad QB/team) to hit at their current ADP, despite how talented they are as prospects. I am wanting at least one team with a MHJ+Kyler+McBride stack tho. But I'm not taking MHJ in the first, for sure. Something like Bijan 1.08, MHJ 2.05.
The more time that passes, the more I worry about Hollywood Brown. I think he'd eat as Mahomes #1 target outside of Kelce, but I just can't see him staying healthy. Worthy I'd only draft if he's not pushed up boards because of the Mahomes effect, even tho thats the only reason to draft him.

I think my strat in my PPR league is for 3 top 15 WRS and supplement and try to find value options at QB, TE, and RB.

I'm all for a WR/WR/WR start, but they won't all be top 15 unless it's a VERY casual 8 man league. If I go this direction, I'd also hope for an elite QB in round 4. If I go really light on WR to start, I'd want elite QB and TE early to offset, i.e. CMC/Josh Allen/Achane/Pickens/Kincaid/godwin/diontae/worthy/meyers/dotson/wright/dobbins/douglas (4pt passing TD)

RBS.
I think Breece Hall could be RB1. Or Bijan Robinson, I would love to get either on my team but unlikely you get either outside the top 10.
should both be top 8 picks

If I'm going zero RB, gotta look at rookie RBS.

Jonathon Brooks, Carolina Panther
Jaylen Wright, Miami Dolphins
if I take Vidal, I'm also taking Gus. If I take Brooks, I'm also taking Chubba. I'm mostly taking Wright only if i take achane. Early production with all 3 will be a major struggle. You likely waited TOO long for RB, and I hope you got elite TE and QB, and not just 1000 WR.

I like Stroud, but I find he's a little over valued ATM. You can get comparable QBs in terms of fantasy points 2 rounds later. Also, make sure it's 6 points per passing TD.

I'm being offered Joe Mixon for Josh Jacobs. We haven't even had our draft yet and I haven't decided if I was keeping Jacobs or not yet. My other two keepers will be Justin Jefferson (dynasty player) and Jonathan Taylor.

Hadn't decided on Jacobs, Kenneth Walker III LaPorta, or Purdy as my last keeper.

Should I keep Jacobs or Mixon over the others?

Since there are so few good fantasy TEs I was kinda leaning towards him.

Got a draft tonight and got the #2 pick in a 12 team league. Fuuu is there a worse pick to have??!

I guess I'll roll the dice on jets RB Hall. And then 45 mins later I'll see who's left with my next pick.

So that was my initial thought too. If I would have had to declare last week, thats what I would have done. But as time has passed, I have thought about keeping Drake or Kupp and trying to draft a QB in our 1st round (which is essentially the 4th round).

I was also going to give a 2nd option of not keeping Mahomes in favor of Kupp but unless you get pre injury and Pre Nucua Kupp I think I'd rather Mahomes. There is just way more options to fill your WR position than your QB. I'd rather know who/what my QB situation is and go from there. I feel you can get comparable WR in rounds 4-6ish(i say that as your keepers are 1-3 ). Argument can be made you can with QB too but I wouldn't want to be on the outside looking in.

What are the keeper rules? Do they take a draft pick? If not, it's LaPorta..he's going as TE 1 or 2, sometimes as high as the 2/3 turn. You can get a Josh jacobs, KWIII, Joe Mixon or a higher rated RB at or later than that spot.

Jacobs vs Mixon is tough. I have Jacobs comfortably higher, but both have a very similar range of outcomes. I don't have enough conviction either way, so I probably wouldn't keep jacobs solely with the intention of using that as a means to acquire Mixon.

I'm really high on KWIII this year. Purdy will go late enough in drafts that it's not worth it as a keeper.

So basically, if there's no draft pick penalty, and especially if there's any sort of TE premium, LaPorta is the easy pick from a value stand point. The RBs are good enough that I would at least consider the scarcity of the position as it relates to your other league mates likely keepers before making a final decision. If all of the top RBs are being kept, Jacobs and KWIII might be the best available RBs.

Keeper rules and team composition matter, but I might keep Kyren, Jacobs and LaPorta. You are set at RB and TE in standard lineups, and can just smash WR through the first 7 rounds lol. Prioritize Corum as a handcuff amongst your late round RB picks.

Yeah I think I agree with all that. No draft pick penalties. We've all been friends for 25+ years so while we get competitive with each other it's not like too serious. I have the second pick this year since injuries destroyed my team late in the season so I can take Jacobs or another RB with that pick.

Has anyone done an ESPN draft recently that can post the results?

Not in love with my draft. I love my first two picks, then it went kinda down hill. I regret drafting Josh Allen over guys like Kenneth Walker or Joe Mixon... but I feel good about the middle of the draft adn the after corum its just kinda depth.

Yea Walker plus Hurts/Mahomes/Jackson would definitely look better than Allen and Stevenson. Outside of that not bad.
