10 team league
28 players on a roster.

C,1B,2B,3B,SS,UTIL,OF,OF,OF, 5 bench

SP,SP,RP,11 bench

And here is the scoring setup..

Single, R, BB, HBP = 1 point
Steal 1.5 points
Double = 2 points
Triple = 3 points
HR = 4 points
Hit for the cycle = 10 points
Multi-HR game = 2 points
3-for-3 game = 3 points
4/4 = 4 points
5/5 = 5 points
6/6 = 6 points

K = 1 point
IP = 1 point (0.3 per out)
Quality Start = 2 points
Save = 3 points
Win = 6 points
ER= -.5 points
Blown save = -2 points
Loss = -4 points
CG = 5 points
No hitter = 15 points
Perfect Game = 20 points
15+ K's = 5 points

Like I said, just IDEA'S...a starting point. This was a leagues setup from one of my fantasy mags I have. I like it.

Thoughts?

You forgot RBI which would be worth 1 of course.
Caught Stealing should be -1
I would leave out the +2 for multi HR game. Already getting mega pts for that
Not wild about the Quality Start but I guess its ok
I would have +1 for holds.

Yeah, this is just the exact setup from one of my mags..I planned on tweaking it. Especially RBI's.

Holds will def be in there..and I'd like to have some sort of bonus for a crazy offensive game..theres 15+ K's and stuff..what about 10+ RBI's or 4+ HR or something?
How many starting pitchers per week? Also it seems like guys like Crawford and Ellsbury are worthless as are closers.

Also I think if you're going to add hits and walks, you should penalize strikeouts.

How? Those guys are gonna get tons of extra base hits due to their speed. Not to mention the points they'll get for steals.

I'm thinking of penalizing K's like -0.5 or 1 pt per K.

Yep. The H2H leagues I have been in always had -1 for K's. I dont think closers are worthless as they get 3 pts for saves. I do think that blown saves should just be -1.

Says the SF Giants fan.

But nah, I do agree.

I prefer it without RBIs. The way it is set up now, it's awarding points for stats that players control. What I mean by that is, if you put Albert Pujols on the '09 Giants/Mariners, he's going to have fewer RBIs.
I would take out points for singles, doubles, triples, homeruns, walks, HBP,

or maybe add total bases instead.

And if you decide to take all that out, then add RBI.
RBIS have to be in the scoring. Its only the most important thing a player does.. to drive in runs.
Damn it James... Am I too late?

James, I looked back at an old H2H league I was in and found this scoring:

Category Pts
Saves 3
Wins 6
Innings Pitched 1
Strikeouts 1
Losses -3
Earned Runs -1
Walks (Pitcher) -0.5
Hits (Pitcher) -0.5
Complete Games 4
Hit Batsmen -0.5
Shutouts (CG Only) 8
Holds 1
Blown Saves -1
Singles 1
Doubles 2
Triples 3
Home Runs (Batter) 4
RBI 1
Stolen Bases 1
Caught Stealing -1
Walks (Batter) 1
Hit By Pitch 1
Runs (Batter) 1
Batter Strikeouts -1

I like that, only thing I would consider is changing HBP to 0.5 instead of 1 and blown saves -2 instead of -1.

You gonna set your damn team this time? I let you in WZ Football and you didn't set your roster most of the year. 16 weeks and you had issues, what about setting it every day? Lol

Yeah, I would never even consider removing RBI's. The Pujols example isn't gonna work because players DO get more RBI opportunities based on their situation, but shouldn't be penalized for getting them because they are in a better situation then others. That's a key component in drafting players. Their situation.

I could see that.. the HBP being the same as walks. I prefer BS to be just -1 but that's miinor. No big deal.
