you know I was certain with all the Giants homers on here that He would have been taken right after 9 and before my pick so I was counting him out.....I was oh so close to taking him.....

its crzy pulling his jedi mind trick with these positions LF, CF, RF....that I pulled the trigger on crackhead.

Josh Hamilton will put up points...when he's not on the DL

thats why I have the perfect plan B when my time comes around.
With a dwindling group of LF's on the board ....... my pick is Matt Holliday

Using every ranking board for a pts league that I could find - Matt Holiday was a top 10 pick. I feel fortunate to find him still available at #18.

he was one of the 4 I was struggling with....Holiday. Excellent source with Albert still there for now.

with Our Favorite Son....I try to stay away from drafting my fav players.

Good choices. I really like Matt Holliday. I like him better than Josh Hamilton. I really wanted to draft Tim, but just didn't want to deal with it when he struggles - it's like double dose of sadness.

I was sweating out Holliday for the last few picks. I also had him over Josh because of the injury factor. Caoll me crazy but I had him rated over Crawford as well.

Crzy got some unreal value with Timmy where he chose him. Will it start a run on ace pitchers?

Yea - I like Matt a lot. Both Crawford and Matt have only LF eligibility and I already have a LF, so I wasn't very excited about the idea of drafting Left-Fielders in top 2 rounds.

Timmy is a good pick at this spot, but in my experience good starting pitching is always available later, and 2nd basemen are not. So, I valued that a little more. Both strategies work if implied correctly.

But yes, Matt Holliday is a great pick.

Like I said the deciding factor for me was the dual position spot for Hamilton. Otherwise it came down to Holliday and him.

I doubt a run for starting pitchers will commence...not with top tier positions still available which are gonna be at a premium now.

Good starting pitching is available but ELITE starters may not be. Lincecum was a steal here. For me it depends on the type of league. In a 5x5 league I never take a SP in rd 1 but in this format its not a bad play in my opinion. ( obviously since i took Halladay early)
Holliday was frustratingly inconsistent for me last year. Which means he'll probably go crazy this year, but I probably wont be buying unless the price is right.

Well tell you what.. give me his 2010 season and I will be more than happy. 45 doubles, 28 homers, 103 rbi. I find it amusing that you werent satisfied. He wasnt the reason you didnt win. MY team was the reason you didnt win.
