Good choices. I really like Matt Holliday. I like him better than Josh Hamilton. I really wanted to draft Tim, but just didn't want to deal with it when he struggles - it's like double dose of sadness.
I was sweating out Holliday for the last few picks. I also had him over Josh because of the injury factor. Caoll me crazy but I had him rated over Crawford as well.
Crzy got some unreal value with Timmy where he chose him. Will it start a run on ace pitchers?
Yea - I like Matt a lot. Both Crawford and Matt have only LF eligibility and I already have a LF, so I wasn't very excited about the idea of drafting Left-Fielders in top 2 rounds.
Timmy is a good pick at this spot, but in my experience good starting pitching is always available later, and 2nd basemen are not. So, I valued that a little more. Both strategies work if implied correctly.
But yes, Matt Holliday is a great pick.
Good starting pitching is available but ELITE starters may not be. Lincecum was a steal here. For me it depends on the type of league. In a 5x5 league I never take a SP in rd 1 but in this format its not a bad play in my opinion. ( obviously since i took Halladay early)
I agree. There are only so many Elite pitchers in the game. I hope one slips, then I can maybe trade up again and nab one.
I have a good feeling one will fall.
