Best injury pick ups?

Best injury pick ups?

Like all sick and selfish fantasy football players, when I hear that a good player has been injured my first thought is, "ooooh, is his back up available?"

It's lame. It's what's destroying sports. And I can't help it.

Today two really good players left their preseason games with injuries: Arian Foster and Wes Welker. So my question is, are any of their back ups good free agent picks ups now? And if so, which one is the best?

In my league, Ben Tate has already been picked up. But I included him on here because I think a lot of people are deciding between Tate and Ward.

I also included Edelman because most people probably don't want to ditch two of their bench players for FA pick ups. So they might be deciding between all these guys.

What do you guys think? Any of these guy have value now?
I picked up Tate before the game, might pay off.

If welker's injury is serious I'd go with edelman but that offense has a lot of weapons already. Theres branch, gronk, hernandez, ocho...

edelman was the biggest disappointment for me last season. there are way too many targets on that offense. i think he was injured as well
It sounds like Foster will be out one month. So that's a few games. Tate is already gone in my league. I'm thinking about picking up Derrick Ward, but I'd have to drop Javon Ringer.

Is it better to have Ward or Ringer?
I just dropped Ringer because I heard his hip injury is lingering around. I also have Rashard Jennings, who apparently is possibly going on the PUP list due a knee injury. So I was thinking about picking up Ward as well since Tate is already gone in my league as well.
It's looking like Ward and Tate will split time with Ward getting the heavier load. Tate is the up'n'comer so people are excited about him, but Ward is the #2 and in the short term (which is the only term which these 2 are guaranteed to be worth much) Ward should be the more valuable fantasy play. The injury could linger and reappear all season, in which case Tate may prove himself the more productive back, but for now, Ward is the better play.
I went out and picked up Tate as a strategy move mostly, it prevents the guy that lost Foster the ability to grab him and if he pans out he could be some solid trade bait after the first week or two.

I picked up Ward in 1 and Tate and Ward in another to see if one shakes out. Jason Avant is a good gamble because I'm not sold on Maclin being ready and Avant produces when given a shot.
TATER TATE
I don't know why everyone says Tate when Kubiak just said that Ward is #2 on the depth chart.

It wouldnt be a bad thing to not have either with Kubiak. If Foster goes down Kubiack will split the carries between them. Tate is more likely to get that 40 yard TD than Ward. Ward would more likely eat up TDs at the goal line. If your stuck in a situation where u need 1 theyre about equal imo.
