WEEK 3 TRADE - Jordy/Jacobs for Harvin/Tolbert?

WEEK 3 TRADE - Jordy/Jacobs for Harvin/Tolbert?

A guy in my league just lost Miles Austin for three weeks. He wants to trade for Jordy Nelson to fill the spot.

My team is 1-1 so far after putting up over 131 pts both weeks. No PPR in this league. I'm very happy with this squad. Tolbert would boost the flex though.

MY TEAM
QB - Drew Brees
WR - Calvin Johnson
WR - Jordy Nelson
RB - Matt Forte
RB - Michael Turner
FLEX - Brandon Jacobs
K - Josh Brown
DEF - New Orleans (or a spot-play)

BENCH - Malcolm Floyd, Jason Snelling, Marion Barber, San Francisco defense (spot-plays)

Please share your opinions. Thanks!

So... it's Jordy AND Jacobs for Harvin AND Tolbert, right?

Not Jordy OR Jacobs for Harvin OR Tolbert?

Based on value, I'd probably do it. Tolbert is probably better than anyone else involved here.

But you are pretty hurting at WR. So based on your team, I'm not sure.

I voted yes. But I'm not that confident with my vote. Sorry that's not much help....
I think I would do it. Tolbert >> Jacobs IMO. He'd be a great flex option for you like you said.

I'd honestly rather have Harvin over Nelson as well. I think Nelson is a nice #3 WR because he can explode for a long TD at any time in that offense.... however, I don't know if he'd be reliable as a #2 WR on a fantasy squad because of how many weapons the Packers can throw at you. Like WR's in the New Orleans offense, it's really hard to trust anyone outside the #1 WR on the team (Colston, Jennings) week to week.

Percy Harvin on the other hand is the #1 WR on the Vikings offense and will continue to get consistent looks week to week. While the Vikings passing offense isn't as explosive as the Packers, you know Harvin will most likely be involved. Especially with the Vikings probably having to play from behind a lot this season. I think once McNabb gets settled in a bit more in Minnesota, Harvin will put up some better numbers.

I really like Nelson but I'd probably be more comfortable throwing Harvin out there every week. Upgrading from Jacobs to Tolbert is a nice cherry on top to complete the trade.

It's two guys for two guys.

Yeah it's tough. I just picked up Denarius Moore too.

Tolbert is a big get, but Jordy has been ballin lately. Tough call. Wish the Vikings would show something...
Ok, I read this backwards at first, but if it means you end up with Tolbert, DO IT.

Hey Zilla. Jordy's been ballin' lately though, but I realize Jacobs is kinda bad thus far (the Giants overall are kinda bad really).

You think Harvin will actually put up some solid games soon?

Tolbert is a stud this year, that's for sure.

I think of Green Bay's passing attack as being similar to New England's: You just never know who is going to have the big week. One game it's Welker, the next it's Gronkowski, and the week after it's Branch before Ochocinco finally gets his. It's a carousel.

In Green Bay you got Jennings. You got Finley, you got Driver, you got Nelson, you got Jones. Suddenly there's Cobb now as well. I just think you have more of a consistant week-to-week chance of putting points up with Tolbert.
i would do it. like zilla said, nelson is in an offense similar to the pats and saints which frustrates you with inconsistency from their 3rd or 4th options, which nelson is on the pack. harvin isn't much of a drop-off. he's the starter in minnesota and might get you a kick return for a TD here and there. overall, i would make the trade solely off of mike tolbert. i think he's much more of an upgrade over brandon jacobs who shares goal line carries with ahmad bradshaw. when the chargers are in the redzone, tolbert is a td machine
Bump.
I don't really get what the question is here. You'd be getting Harvin and Tolbert, right? If that's the case, why are you even asking us, take the trade immediately. You'd be upgrading both positions, so where's the dilemma?

Tolbert will probably score twice the points Jacobs does and Harvin and J Nelson will be fairly similar, even though Harvin is the much more talented player and will likely end up with slightly better fantasy stats rather than the significantly superior stats he should earn.

It's done y'all. Thanks for the advice. Tolbert & Harvin are on the squad.
